It felt like the right time to make something that was entirely my own vision," he says. "This is arecord that guitar players will love, but at its core, it's really a song record. It's an album about who I am, where I come from, and what I believe in."

Duane had spent 10 years playing guitar alongside his father, legendary Allman Brother DickeyBetts. He’d release an EP, Sketches of American Music and co-found Allman Betts Band.

Even so, the need to create a full-length solo LP gnawed at him; one thatnodded to his rootswhile simultaneously pushing ahead. Following his instincts, Duane assembled JohnnyStachela, Berry Duane Oakley, John Ginty and Tyler Greenwell, and took up an offer fromfriends Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks to record at their SwampRaga Studio in Jacksonville. The album was cut to 2-inch analog tape during a series of live studio performances in 2022.

Cordovas:
A band with one foot in the present and another in the past, Cordovas embrace the sound of classic Americana and country-rock, with The Band, Grateful Dead, and The Allman Brothers as key influences. The group is led by multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Joe Firstman, who recorded as a solo artist for Atlantic Records and led the house band on NBC Late Night before forming Cordovas in 2011, and lead guitarist Lucca Soria who joined the band in 2016.

Cordovas’ new full-length record, produced by Cory Hanson (Wand), will be released in summer 2023 on ATO Records.
