10 Life Lessons We Can Learn From The Capitol Theatre’s Squirrels
Jan 21 / Monday
Happy National Squirrel Appreciation Day! Today, January 21, is The Cap’s most important day of the year, so we’re giving you the inside scoop from the biggest legends of our venue. Not only are squirrels our mascots, but they’re the only creatures who have attended every single show. They’ve been around, and they’ve got a lot of wisdom and good sense to share.
1. Great things are created when you work together.
The Cap is only made possible because of our live music community and dedicated staff. Thanks to these passionate people, we can keep growing and bringing people together through music.
2. Enjoy the journey.
Life is a journey that must be traveled no matter how high the tree and how hard the climb. In the end, you'll find that it's the journey that teaches you a lot about your destination.
3. Be fearless on the dance floor.
Let the music set your soul on fire. The magic happens outside of your comfort zone and doing scary things helps you grow! That’s why you should dance like no one is watching!
4. You’ll regret the things you didn’t do more than the things you did.
Life is short. Buy the damn concert tickets. Please, treat yourself! You really don't want to look back with regret.
5. Keep in touch with people you meet along the way.
The more welcoming energy you put out into the world, the more you will get back. So, smile at people. Be kind to people. Make lifelong friends. You have so little to lose, and so much to gain.
6. Love every second of what you do.
You only get one shot at life, and that means you must follow your passion. Go out there and live your dreams.
7. Life is like a nut.
Sometimes, the best things are difficult to accomplish, but if you keep working at it, you’ll break through the hard shell and it will pay off in the end.
8. If one branch doesn’t work, there is always the next one.
Stumbling is a part of life. There are always more branches to jump to. A stumble can be turned into a leap to the next branch.
9. Be present.
Full presence means being fully there, locked-in. Not looking at your phone. Not thinking about what tasks you have to complete for work the next day. Just full, total, presence. It’s powerful.
10. Take care of your family.
To us, family means putting your arms around each other and being there. You go through life wondering what is it all about but at the end of the day, it's all about family.
